Kay Rockwell


Kay Rockwell is a Professor Emerita and Extension Specialist, Program Evaluation and Distance Education. She has a joint teaching appointment between AgLEC and Educational Psychology, and is a Graduate Faculty Fellow. As Evaluation Specialist in the Cooperative Extension Division, she manages the Program Evaluation Unit and her research appointment focuses on distance learning. After graduating from Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing, she received her B.S., M. A., & Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. She is past chair of the Extension Education Evaluation Topical Interest Group (EEE-TIG) of the American Evaluation Association. She is a recipient of the Sustained Excellence in Extension Evaluation Award and the Excellence in Evaluation Training Award from the EEE-TIG.

Teaching responsibilities focus on Program Evaluation in Adult Education and Training. She developed a graduate course in modular format for student credit in graduate programs and employee in-service in the workplace. In 1995 she taught the course on satellite and 19 universities enrolled in it through Ag*SAT (now A*DEC). She continues teaching via distance using videotapes, audio conferencing, and computer networking. She is married, has three children and three granddaughters.
